摘要

The two ESA Earth Explorer Core missions CryoSat-2rnand GOCE provide a unique opportunity for exploring arnbroad variety of scientific applications in the fields ofrnGeodesy, Oceanography and Cryospheric research.rnBoth missions are currently in orbit and acquiringrnmeasurement data. Combining the data derived from therntwo missions allows computing oceanographic productsrnsuch as Absolute Dynamic Topography (ADT) with arnspatial resolution and accuracy higher than currentrnsolutions.rnTo get an idea of possible improvements in spatialrnresolution and accuracy with respect to the utilization ofrnprevious missions’ data, a preliminary case study in thernPacific region will demonstrate the ADT quality. Thernproducts used within the case study will be GOCE-onlyrnand CryoSat-2-only Low Rate Mode level 2 (LRM L2)rndatasets on one hand and multi-mission altimetryrnproducts and non-GOCE derived geoid models on thernother hand. Parameters for comparison are, due to thernlimited availability of CryoSat-2 data, along trackrndifferences and correlation coefficients for single passesrnof CryoSat-2. An example for an ADT map replacingrnCryoSat-2 data with Envisat data is presented to showrnthe performance of the techniques applied.
