Global gravity models composed of a set of sphericalrnharmonic coefficients represent one of the mostrnimportant products of the GOCE satellite gradiometryrnmission. These are of particular interest in many geoscientificrndisciplines dealing with the Earth’s gravityrnfield. At present, four satellite-only global gravityrnmodels based on GOCE observations have been madernavailable to the scientific community. Three of themrnhave been determined by independent strategies usingrnpure GOCE satellite-to-satellite tracking and satelliterngravity gradiometry observations. The fourth model hasrnbeen computed from a combination of GRACE andrnGOCE observations.rnIn this contribution, GOCE derived global gravityrnmodels are compared with EGM2008, the OCTASrngeoid and terrestrial gravity anomalies. We restrict ourrnnumerical study to the territory bounding the continentalrnpart of Norway. Spherical harmonic expansions havernbeen truncated at maximum degree and order 200rncorresponding to a spatial resolution of 100km. Higherrnfrequencies contained in the OCTAS geoid and in thernterrestrial gravity anomalies have been removed byrnexplicitly applying a low-pass filter on the data sets, orrnby removing the signal content of EGM2008 aboverndegree 200.
