摘要

The purpose of this paper is to outline how an internationalrninitiative to connect Karamanlides cultural heritage couldrnbe pursued by using digital library technologies. ThernKaramanlides, also known as the Karamanli people, arernthose who spoke Ottoman Turkish and wrote in Greekrncharacters in Asia Minor (Anatoli) during the rule of thernOttoman Empire. The first step of the research was tornidentify the available digital Karamanlides cultural artifactsrnvia social media tools and pinpoint the useful metadata. Thernnext step focused on the analysis of these user generatedrnmetadata derived from user uploaded images. Findingsrnsuggested that these unique cultural artifacts have beenrnscattered all over the World Wide Web and lack descriptivernmetadata. Conceptual framework for the proposed digitalrnlibrary project will be discussed.
