The effect of tempering temperature on the properties of CLAM steel was studied. The effect of alloying elements on the change of mechanical properties was investigated too. The strength of CLAM steel was increased by silicon addition, and the ductility is still good, while yttrium addition led to the CLAM steel keeping good ductility, but lost much of the strength. Electron irradiation behavior of CLAM steel was tested in high voltage electron microscope. Many voids formed in CLAM steel with basic composition by electron irradiation at 450℃, while no void can be found in silicon added CLAM steel.
