Gas Analysers based on tuneable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) in the nearrninfrared were introduced to the market more than 10 years ago. Important applications havernbeen emission control and in-process measurements of oxygen (O_2) and carbon monoxidern(CO) in the chemical and petrochemical industry. Some years later TDLAS was extended tornalso cover hydrogen sulphide (H_2S). Important features of H_2S TDLAS are the speed ofrnresponse, non-contact in-situ measurement, high dynamic range (ppm and % level arernpossible) and zero cross interference from background gases. Application examples like 80 –rn100 % H_2S analysis in the chemical industry and ppm H_2S detection in natural gas or mixedrnhydrocarbon streams illustrate the versatility of this technique.
