Simulations of progressive failure and fatigue debond propagation of a bondedrnlaminated double cantilever beam configuration in mode Ⅰ loading were conducted.rnTwo-dimensional finite element model was created using the Abaqus 2012r3 softwarernintegrated with the virtual crack closure technique. Four mesh densities werernconducted in the progressive failure modelling. Analysis using the shortest 0.125 mmrnlong elements was terminated prematurely at the peak load region for a wide range ofrncritical strain energy release rate
