The paper describes a strategy of how to implementrntechnical installations (heating, domestic hot waterrnand ventilation) in a building energy calculationrnapplication in an effective and userfriendly manner.rnTechnical installations are designed using a 3x4rnmatrix (3 columns for the different technical systems;rn4 rows for the system parts: generation (E), storagern(S), distribution (V) and emission (ü)). The 12 partsrnspecified individually with information related to onernspecific part provided on-screen at any time, enhancernthe user friendliness substantially.rnThe entire system layout is updated on a continuingrnbasis, showing possible conflicts (e.g. if a storagerntank does not fit with a certain type of boiler).rnThe building energy calculation application,rnBuildDesk Expert - Energy Design, supports buildingrndesigners in complying with the energy part ofrnnational building codes.
