Moisture is one of the main problems in buildings. Inrnspite of the complexity to describe moisture physicalrnphenomena, recent technological improvements havernallowed them to be incorporated into buildingrnsimulation programs. However, it is still unrealisticrnto predict whole building hygrothermal behaviorrnusing CFD models. As a result, the available wholernhygrothermal building programs assume the room airrnto be perfectly mixed, which is a poor assumption forrnconditioned spaces.rnTo take into account the convective phenomenarnimposed by mechanical ventilation, we have used anrnintermediate approach (zonal method) to develop arnmodel library to predict whole hygrothermalrnbehavior in conditioned rooms.rnIn this paper, a zonal library, which includes twornmodels in order to consider building envelopernmoisture buffering effects, is proposed. It is alsorndiscussed how to take into account the dynamicrnaspect of jet airflow in the zonal method. The zonalrnlibrary is applied to a case study to show the impactrnof the external humidity on the whole hygrothermalrnperformance of a room equipped with a vertical fancoilrnunit.
