摘要

A new technique has been developed for wetland and riparian restoration projects in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Non-woody species are being contract grown in a dense coir erosion control fairc and installed as a living and structural element of these projects. To date three projects have implemented this material and another large restoration proejct is scheduled for construction in 2000. The advantage of this instant protection is that it allows the immediate function of new channels without the usual time required to establish vegetation. The product is installed on grade to meet design constaints.
