Composite utrf Reinforcement Mattings (C-TRMs) are geosynthetic turf reinforcement mattings with added degradable organic fiber components for increased erosion control effectiveness. The use of C-TRMs can significantly increase the velocity and shear stress resistance of natural vegetation, providing design engineers and effective and economical alternative to hard armor chanel linings. A prime example of this geosynthetically reinforced system can be found in Hawaii on the island of Oahu.
