Groundwaters often contain significant populations of colloids that may enhance radionuclide transport.In addition to natural sources,colloids may also be derived from the waste itself.This paper reports the initial findings of an investigation into colloid-assisted transport in saturated and partially-saturated groundwater systems.The ultimate aim is to made recommendations regarding the treatment of colloids in TSPA for Yucca Mountain.
