摘要

To help farmers in developing economies achieve greater financial security,more attention needs to be paid to developing and increasing the range of cool season winter active fodder and food crop varieties available to them,by improving the Seed and Machinery Chains,including meehanising seed sowing and seed processing systems to improve household labour efficiency.In many countries the Seed and Mechanization Chains are not operating effectively or efficiently,so that sufficient supplies of quality seed are not available to farmers.The new Lincoln University Seed Research Centre/Seed and Mechanisation Charitable Development Trust (LUSRC / SEMEC) Foundation Seed Support Cell emerged in 201i to support and assist to integrate Cool Season Crop Improvement Progranmes (CSCIP) for developing rural economies.LUSRC/SEMEC specialises in technology development,synthesis and extension coveting all aspects of seed science and related technologies.It aims to demonstrate a systems approach to improving food security from improvements in the Seed and Mechanization Chains.
