6A8 is a novel humana-mannosidase II, which is a 1062 amino-acid polypeptide. This enzyme belongs to glycosyl hydrolases family 38 and shows different cell distribution and biochemical characters. Sequence homologous alignment revealed Asp374 is a conserved site in the member of glycosyl hydrolases family 38, which is related with its biology function. In the simulant 3D structure, which was built using threading method and based on 1cdg, an active tunnel region was identified. In this region, two other putative active sites- Asp 466 and Glu 243 were found.
