In order to configure a multicast tree in a MANET (MobilernAd-Hoc Network), each additional destination mobilerncomputer transmits a joining request control message tornone of the mobile computers already included in the tree.rnIn case that the MANET consists of uni-directional (asymmetric)rnwireless links, a multihop transmission route alongrnwhich the request control message is transmitted is not alwaysrnavailable for data message transmission. In addition,rnin order for a destination mobile computer to leave fromrnthe multicast tree, the leaving request is also impossiblernto be transmitted along the tree. This paper proposes arnnovel multicast tree joining / leaving protocol which is anrnextension of LBSR, a unicast routing protocol supportingrnMANETs with uni-directional links. Here, control messagesrnfor joining / leaving are transmitted along a localrnlooped route.
