An instrument has been developed which can select a liquid sample from any available source, measure precise sample volumes, add any necessary reagents, titrate to a preselected endpoint, print the result, dispose of the reacted sample, wash the reaction vessel and repeat the cycle indefinitely. This paper demonstrates the use of this instrument in the analysis of mercaptan sulfur in gasoline and aqueous alkali streams.
