Imaging matching, which is searching for template image from gray images, has been widely applied. Especially in the field of imaging control and guide it is used as a typical means of image processing. The general method of image matching, that is standard correlative matches to relate with Linear gray difference is not sensitive to image luminosity. Even if there is change of image luminosity, the partial images similar to template image can be sought out. However, while the orientation and dimension of object image don't match those of template image in the main, the traditional method will cause a magnitude of calculation cost, which will depress the algorthm's applicability. The article presents a new method of imaging matching control and guide based on genetic algorithms (GAs). The proposed method is capable of detecting reliably gradient and zooming property of target image relative to template image. While GAs is an efficient means of searching its global solution, we can acquire the better effect of imaging control and guide by rationally encoding the matching parameters and proper GAs operation. In the article, we also research the validity of GAs to imaging control and guide based on experimental result, and discuss the differences of result by changing the parameters' encoding and GAs operation method.
