A fuzzy logic expert system has been developed that automatically allocates resources in real-time over a collection of autonomous agents. Agents can sense their environment and share data to make optimal decisions for the benefit of the group. Evolutionary algorithm based data mining is conducted to determine the form of the membership functions for the fuzzy root concepts, rules and fuzzy decision tree structure. The resource manager is made up of four trees, the isolated platform tree, the multi-platform tree, the fuzzy parameter selection tree and the fuzzy strategy tree. The self-organizing property of the multi-platform tree and the ability of the isolated platform tree to determine the intenionst of an enemy are discussed. The five approaches to validating the expert system are reviewed. Finally, results are provided that show the ability of platforms controlled by the resource manager to respond to incoming threats significantly improving the allied group's security.
