The paper describes a primary automatic Vickers hardness standard, which was developed by National Institute of Metrology(NIM), Beijing, P.R. of China and Guiyan Optoelectronics Technology Institute.etc.The standard is utilized synthetically that optics, precise mechanism.electronics, computer,hydraulic transmission and automatic controlled technology. The CCD image system is employed,which makes the standard measuring of Vickers hardness value automatically. It does eliminate measurement errors caused by person,realize objective measurement and improve measuring accuracy.
