摘要

The analysis of the quantities influencing the uncertainty of measurement of the Shore D and IRHD (N) measurement methods shows that a calibration of the indentation depth, of the indenter geometry and of the test force is of particular importance. The following uncertainties of measurement U are complied with the rubber hardness testers and the calibration methods:rnPractical calibration work proves that higher requirements for the accuracy of elastomer hardness testers can be fulfilled because only part of the tolerances is made use of in the case of high-quality elastomer hardness testers. From this it follows that, in order to guarantee traceability in the field of rubber hardness measurements, suitable standards in the form of a standard measurement device and high-quality rubber hardness reference blocks must be developed.
