Underground optical network construction is being reexamined, and so we have developed new devices to allow it to be employed more efficiently. Specifically, we have developed an underground optical drop closure that is smaller than the conventional one and this has made the following possible. Ⅰ : Miniaturization of the connection box (ex. hand hole, C.C.BOX) in which the closure is installed. Ⅱ: Reduced construction time by using a simple construction specifically for drop fibers. We report our new closure in this paper.
