In support of Canada's leading edge fuel cell and hydrogen industry, the Canadianrngovernment has announced additional funding to support new and expanded programsrnfor fuel cell demonstration leading to commercialization.rnThe paper addresses expanded research and development funding programs andrnpriorities in hydrogen production, storage, fuel cells and in codes and standardsrndevelopment. It also highlights infrastructure development work being carried out byrnthe Canadian Transportation Fuel Cell Alliance and outlines work the Canadianrngovernment has undertaken to facilitate market introduction of hydrogen and fuel cellrntechnology. This includes the establishment of the Early Adopters program and thernpreparation of the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Roadmap. The paper also highlights somernof Canada's recent demonstration activities.
