摘要

A modularly designed research facility of the Instituternof Aerospace Medicine which will in part be open to thernpublic to be visited and experienced, :envihab will berninaugurated on the DLR Cologne-Porz premises in Julyrn2013. Its purpose is to study complex problemsrnpresented by a closed life-support system (:envihab =rnenvironmental habitat) and the interactions betweenrnhumans and the environment. It is expected thatrn:envihab will significantly contribute to the solution ofrnincreasingly pertinent environmental problems on Earth.rnIt will deliver industry-relevant results of scientificrnprogress together with its economic advantages, andrnwill encourage public debate about important futureorientedrnquestions regarding human life. At the samerntime, :envihab will demonstrate a unique new conceptrnof displaying to the public the fascinating world ofrnscience in an authentic environment. It is our hope thatrn:envihab will provide lasting inspiration for youngrnresearchers in industry and science.
