To satisfy the potable water needs of a rapidly growing urban community, the City of Montreal is building a water treatment plant with an ultimate nominal capacity of 500 million imperial gallons per day. The facilities will include an ozonization system which, upon completion, will be the largest of its kind in the world. The first phase consists of installing a total of six ozone generators with all the auxiliary equipment, capable of producing 7500 pounds of ozone per day. Automatic control of all the processes is assured by servomechanisms and will eventually be assumed by a computer.
