摘要

Secondary domestic wastewater was settled under controlled conditions for varying time periods, then batch ozonated. Portions of wastewater samples taken during ozonation were divided into soluble and particulate wastewater components. BOD, TOC, COD and solids content of the total, particulate, and soluble wastewater fractions were found after increasing amounts of ozone were consumed. The data indicate that the rate of oxidation of the particulate wastewater fraction is greater than for the soluble fraction. This suggests that the mechanism of ozone oxidation may differ for each fraction.
