Some of these tests include pressure vs. time measurement using data acquisition equipment, thermal transient, and delay time quantified by first current to first light or pressure, An important characteristic which has eluded the industry is the thermal image produced by the initiator. Through research and experimentation a method has been developed which utilizes a high resolution pyroelectric camera to capture this event.
