A new sensitivity testing methodology has been developed that provides an improved sampling method that results in more accurate estimates of the probability of fire curve with fewer tests. Reduction by one half in the required number of tests is not unusual. This is largely accomplished by allowing great flexibility in specifying which aspects of the probability of fire vs. stress curve are of real interest. This flexibility is made possible through the use of a Bayesian approach and Monte Carlo integration.
