Facile Preparation and Characterization of Boron Nitride-coated Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes

摘要

The discovery of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) has attracted high interests because of their unique mechanical,thermal and electronic properties.However,the application of CNTs has been limited to the field of electronic packaging and electrical insulating due to their excellent electrical conductivity.Surface modification of CNTs thus becomes an important method,especially,using insulating inorganic layers.Boron nitride (BN) has low density,high thermal conductivity and chemical inertness.In particularly,boron nitride has received much attention because they are insulating,do not react with molten metals,and have higher oxidation resistance than carbon.Thus,combining the advantages of the two materials would be of great value for the design of nanoscale electronic devices and nanostructures composites.
