The edges of road hedges represent an important alignment in France and in all Europe. It is about a considerable part of the flora of our campaigns which takes a determining part in the grounds maintains, the fauna diversity and the esthetism. Like any vegetation, it requires maintenance and the budgets allocated with this task represent a significant part for the rural communities. The machines used in the road hedges pruning function correctly but they are sometimes obsolete in energy consumption, outputs, safety or in the cutting capacity. In order to improve them, we carried out a study of project, through a functional needs analysis. A scientific development around the principal design of the product was thus elaborate while following three main axes of reflection: what we cut, with what we cut it and what we will do with.
