摘要

This study involves the collaboration of two laboratories of wood machining and tribology. It aims to better understand the part of the friction on cutting forces variations and introduces a new linear measurement device adapted to wood, capable of measuring static friction coefficient and recording countinuously frictional behavior for all wood fibre orientations. This project is divided into two parts: (i) study of the influence of parameters related to experiments on frictional behavior, and (ii) study of the wood parameters influence. These tests allowed to set up a rigorous methodology for estimating friction coefficient on wood surfaces. Experiments were undertaken on oak wood.
