摘要

The quasi-brittle fracture behaviour of Scots pine (Pinus Sylvestris) is studied. The compact tension test (CTT), is used to produce stable crack growth, and in turn to obtain a softening branch. Corresponding values of the applied load and the crack mouth opening displacement (CMOD) are recorded. Furthermore a number of digital images are captured, before and during loading of the CT-specimens by a photogrammetric equipment. With the equipment displacement and strain fields for the specimens were calculated, hence strain fields were established at different load levels. Furthermore the influence of sharpness of the notch is examined. Two types of notches are examined, one made by a saw blade and one made by a razor blade. The results indicate that the fictitious crack model is suitable for modeling Mode I crack propagation in the TL plane.
