摘要

In this work we present a detailed structural and chemical study of grain boundaries in manganites. The structure of dislocation cores is quite similar to other perovskite systems, such as SrTiO_3. By means of spectroscopic techniques we have shown how cores are non stoichiometric. Electron energy loss spectroscopy also shows how the Mn average oxidation state decreases on the cores. This could be due to the presence of oxygen vacancies. Also, we have found a strong increase of the Ca concentration right on the cores, that could possibly be related to a substitution of Ca ions into Mn sites.
