Cu-Mn supported titania and Cu-Mn supported silica were prepared by the sol-gel method, and former catalyst showed higher activities for the catalytic combustion of toluene than the later supported silica catalyst. In addition, toluene concentrations and oxygen content were found to play a key role in the combustion activities.
