This paper points out non-contact dynamic prediction method is progress trend of predicting outburst by discussing and analyzing present situation of routine prediction of coal and gas outburst. And using rules of gas emission to predict coal and gas outburst is one of the methods realizing non-contact dynamic prediction. The paper studies the character of gas emission before outburst occurs by analyzing the gas emission variation curves of three outbursts from environment monitoring system in No. 10 Hebi Mine. And then combining the former research, it estimates and chooses prediction indices and finally obtains the critical values by comparing indexes of outburst region and those of non-outburst region.
