This paper provides an overview of our researches in using anomalous variation of radon content in earthquake prediction in China, including observations and studies on earthquake precursors, researches on mechanism of radon precursors, and their complexity.rnIn March 1966, an M_s7.2 strong earthquake broke out in Xingtai, North China unexpected, causing a great deal of casualty. China started earthquake prediction research ever since, so does the research in using variation of radon content to predict earthquakes. In the past 30 years, we have accumulated numerous precursory observational data, and have greatly advanced the understanding of the mechanism of radon earthquake precursors. Radon, as one of the most important items for precursory observation, has played a key role in the earthquake monitoring and prediction in China.
