Understanding the influence of soil conditioning parameters on soil behavior is criticalrnto effective EPB TBM face support and performance. A mobile field lab has beenrndeveloped to conduct various tests on conditioned muck sampled off the conveyor belt.rnA central piece to the field lab is measuring mechanical properties under pressure.rnThis paper investigates conditioned soil behavior under pressure (up to 5 bar), andrnexplores the influence of key soil parameter void ratio on behavior under pressure.rnShear strength and compressibility tests were carried out on granular soil in a fieldportablernpressurized test chamber under a variety of pressures and foam parameters.rnThe presented results demonstrate that void ratio, pressure and foam parameters allrninfluence the performance of conditioned soil.
