摘要

Amsterdam City Council is building a new metro line from the North part of the town to the South, called the North-South line. The metro line passes under Amsterdam Central Station about 18m below street level. The construction of the metro at this depth below the existing station a listed building with masonry facades - could cause damage because of settlement in the foundation. This paper presents an overview of the calculations carried out to predict damage in the facade due to foundation settlement.
