摘要

Reinforcement from glass fibre bundles has a relatively sophisticated geometrical structure. The length of the perimeter is a crucial parameter for the analysis of bond properties. Determination of the perimeter with help of digital image analysis has been addressed in (some) previous papers. The results strongly depend on a multitude of boundary conditions which have only been briefly considered in these papers. The reproduction factor is an important parameter. But emphasis has also been placed on the investigation of the effect of the field of depth at optical microscopy. This paper focuses on the importance of all significant influencing parameters and details a strategy to almost completely eliminate the effects of these influences. A systematic application of this approach should, above all, guarantee very reliable and reproducible results.
