SFRC is a structural material that can provide significant benefits, technical as well as economic, in selected structures. The condition for the utilization of SFRC is the homogeneity of the material. As a structural composite SFRC must have identical properties for all load directions. SFRC with any prevailing orientation of steel fibers cannot be considered a suitable structural material. The risk that non-homogenous SFRC appears in the SFRC structure is high, mainly for the low dosages of fibers (15 - 25 kg / m~3). At these dosages the number of fibers in the composite in comparison to the number of grains of the aggregate commonly used for production of 1 m~3 of concrete is low. Steel fibers in these low numbers cannot influence the position of all aggregate grains, and cannot bond with them and form the basic matrix of the future SFRC structure. The relation between the length of fibers and their minimum dosage for the volume unit of the SFRC supported by the results of experiments and by calculations based on the chosen calculation model are the objective of this paper.
