This paper summarises the results of an investigation into the behaviour of high performance steel fibre reinforced concrete (HPSFRC) under uniaxial and biaxial compression stress states. Over 300 specimens with a compressive strength of over 100 N/mm~2 were tested. The specimens were plates of 205 x 205 x 50 mm dimensions. Hooked end steel fibres were used and the influence of length/diameter ratios (1/d), lengths (1) and volume fractions (V_f) was examined. Tests were undertaken in a 2 MN servo-controlled biaxial testing machine designed and built in-house at the University of Glasgow. Fundamental biaxial failure surfaces and deformational responses are presented in terms of the influence of steel fibres in HPC. The eventual aim is to use this data to develop mathematical models for use in design and in computational modelling, such as finite element analysis.
