Radioactive waste generated at Ignalina NPP is stored in above ground assembled-monolith concrete buildings. The institutional waste till 1989 was damped into Maisiagala repository. All these storage/disposal facilities for solid and solidified waste are still not licensed. A few projects were initiated for long term safety assessment of these facilities. The results of these studies are described in this paper.
