The results of experimental and theoretical investigations of the frequency spectrum of HRG resonators are discussed. To achieve a high performance of vibrating gyroscopes it is necessary to reduce the energy leak and, hence, separate the low bending mode frequency from the other frequencies, caused by the stem resonance modes. Two methods of the low frequency spectrum prediction are used: finite element method and analytical investigation. Comparison of the prediction results with the experimental data allows estimating the accuracy of calculations. The principles of HRG resonator design based on mathematical simulations are discussed.
