This paper presents the results of the trials of master compasses Vega-M, Geus-M, Meridian and satellite compass MRK-11 received in the course of three cruises to the North Pole of the atomic ice-breaker "Yamal" in summer 2003. Methods of gyrocompass accuracy evaluation and some practical recommendation useful for operation in the polar waters are given. In summer of 2003 during three cruises to the North Pole on board of atomic icebreaker "Yamal" were performed the trials of Modern Russian Marine Compasses: 1. the highlatitude option of single rotor corrected gyrocompass "Vega-M",prodused at Sverdlovsk Plant of Precise Mechanics; 2. single- rotor corrected gyrocompasses with indirect digital-analog ("Meridian") and digital ("Geus-M") control, prodused at Perm Scientific-Industrial Instrument Making Company; 3. satellite compass MRK-11,developed by NIIRT at Krasnoyarsk State University and FGUPNPP " Radiosviaz".
