The integration of menial and satellite navigation systems is very popular because of the fact that the errors existing in any of them are of completely different nature. The errors in satellite navigation systems, like in Global Positioning System (GPS), are due to: noise in communication link, changes in geometrical configuration of satellites, blocking of the view of satellites from receiver location, influence of atmosphere, multi-path transmission of GPS signal, and internal noise of GPS receiver. On the other side, the errors in a strap-down Inertial Navigation System (SDINS) are of slow varying oscillatory nature and not affected by mentioned environmental conditions. This paper presents the software system developed for the analysis and development of such systems based on optimal estimation of SDINS data and inertial instruments' errors via GPS measurements. Moreover, GPS enables the initial calibration of SDINS system, while on the other hand continuous presence of information in SDINS compensates the loose of data in the intervals when GPS signal is absent from some reason. The results obtained using a laboratory prototype of system are shown.
