摘要

A key aspect in optimising vessel operations is voyage planning and fleet positioning. The basis of this are ship models,which allow owners and operators to interact with a digital version of the ship, deciding on the best route, set appropriatetargets for the crew and identify the best ship to use to transport the required cargo.Data driven models are used in many industries as a solution to understanding complex multi-dimensional systems. Thecomplexity from the interaction between the subsystems is removed since the model learns these relationships from thepatterns in the data. However, the accuracy of the model is directly proportional to the quality of the data being used togenerate or train the model.This paper will aim to show the importance of data quality when looking to develop data driven ship performance modelswith the aim of voyage optimisation and planning. Furthermore to present how to identify bad datasets in both time variantand time invariant scenarios.
