The potential of an integrated water re-circulating system (p) for growth of red tilapia (Oreochromis sp) and lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. longifolia) were evaluated. A completely randomized design experiment was conducted with two treatments in triplicates; one was the system with nutrient supply (Pl_(25)) and other as control (PL_0). Results indicated that the system was efficiently able to remove high concentration of total ammonia -nitrogen (TAN) excreted by fish during the experiment. Total ammonia excretion ranged 0.32 - 2.24 mg L~(-1) in both treatments at the end of experiment.
