A comprehensive analysis was conducted on variety reasons for misfires of blasting in underground coal mines.According to the Safety Regulations in Coal Mine and the Safety Regulations in Blasting, this paper proposes practical methods to prevent misfires and appropriate procedures to treat a misfired blast. With regard to misfires using series circuit connection in a full face large underground drift blasting, series-in-parallel circuit connection is recommended to reduce resistance of the network, and improve the reliability of detonation. With the proposed method of firing connection, practical application shows that a full-face blasting has no misfire and the safety of blasting operations is improved.
