摘要

Electro-osmosis refers to the movement of a liquid phase through a solid phase in response to an applied electric field. In this study, focus is laid on pH and pore pressure soatial and time variations in saturated rigid kaolinite samples with freely draining ends under a constant electric current. It is experimentally found that pore pressure gradient can be generated by pH gradient at uniform electric field. This is confirmed through a simple theoretical modelling and physico-chemically dependent transport coefficients. Corresponding numerical calculations allow to capture the main pore pressure profile features.
