It has been known that inherent material anisotropy influences the mechanics of geoengineering applications. Aiming at the experimental studies associated with geoengineering applications in anisotropic materials this manuscript proposes a poromechanics analysis of a fully saturated transversely isotropic rock hollow cylinder. Numerical analyses were carried out to demonstrate the material anisotropy effect on stress, displacement, and pore pressure distributions in the cylinder. It is also shown that uncertainties in the poromechanical parameters have proven effects on the geomaterial responses during testing.
