As one of minimally invasive surgery, fluorescence guided resection method has considerable attention. However, the system must provide a large-scale equipment and the operator often have some troubles. So, we have developed a new system that includes the probe for a floodlight by a blue LED light, a CCD camera and image processing to improve the accuracy of the border in imaging of intraoperative visualization by fluorescence. To identify the border of tumour sites in the image processing, the detection method of a distinct character in imaging simulating characteristics of human eyesight is employed. Lighting the blue LED light on twelve kinds of compound liquids of blood and fluorescent substance, we took computational images through the CCD camera and tried to detect the margins for each data. By comparing the results from the proposed method with those from the traditional edge detection method, we demonstrated the validity of the proposed method. Moreover, we examined the accuracy of the detected area by calculating the error between the radius of the laboratory dish and the calculated.
