The data on 15 genetic groups (F_1, F_2's and reciprocal crossbreds) obtained from crossing Nali (N), Merino (M) and Corriedale breeds were used to estimate crossbreeding effects of growth traits. Nali had non significant negative additive genetic effects (Dickerson's model) on all body weights and daily weight gain while positive for Merino and Corriedale breeds. Crossbreds of Nali with Merino and Corriedale showed non-significant negative heterosis for all traits but negative heterotic effects for crosses of Merino and Corriedale breeds were negative up to six months age and positive for later ages. Results from Kinghorn's model were different than obtained from Dickerson's model for all the traits. Recombination effects (epistatic loss) were non significant for all traits. There occurred not much segregation of genes on inverse crossing of the F1's.
